ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Identify funding opportunities and viable revenue streams that align with the agency's strategic vision and initiatives
  • Accelerate Hillsides' strategic growth by pursuing new contracts, developing strategies to enter new markets, and informing innovative business development opportunities
  • Track industry trends, develop market analysis, spot emerging opportunities and participate in the design of innovative programs and service lines that benefit children and families
  •  Screen potential grants and contracts by analyzing market trends and solicitations
  • Help write grant/contract proposals and supporting documents in response to solicitations
  • Act as a liaison with program staff to design and develop new programs
  • Participate in contract development within the organization's competencies to develop new service lines and diverse revenue streams.
  • Conduct market research to identify best practices in the behavioral healthcare industry
  • Interpret data; develop reports and business plans for new service lines and programs being vetted within the organization
  • Design presentations using mixed media software and tailored to a spectrum of audiences: workforce, board of directors, funders, donors, etc.
  • Attend conferences and collaborate with external stakeholders on a regular basis
  • Present at organization's board meetings and senior team meetings as needed
  • Other duties as required

  • Visual acuity, ability to adjust focus and peripheral vision for work on a laptop or other computer equipment
  • Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

Equipment and Computer Software Skills and Abilities:

  • Computer literate (advanced  knowledge of the Office 365 Suite/Apps) and data/electronic records program in use
  • Able to use telephone, office copier, calculator, fax machine, computer printer and scanner, or other equipment as required

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Regularly work indoors in a variety of environments
  • Potential exposure to blood borne pathogens

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATES

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Public Policy, Nonprofit Management, Entrepreneurship, Social Enterprise, or similar
  • Minimum 2-4 years of relevant experience in business development, strategy or similar filed (ideally within healthcare, public policy, behavioral health, or management consulting, but not required)
  • Excellent writing skills and a background in an area of business, entrepreneurship, social innovation, or public policy
  • Advanced  knowledge of the Office 365 Suite/Apps
  • Valid California driver's license, driving record and personal vehicle insurance acceptable to Hillsides' insurance carrier

PQI STATEMENT

Every employee has the opportunity and responsibility to participate in one or more activities each year that support the performance quality improvement (PQI) of Hillsides' programs & services.  Activities might involve membership on a PQI committee or work group, service as a peer reviewer, data collection for PQI and evaluation purposes, completion of PQI questionnaires and surveys or participation in focus groups, or other activities as identified by PQI committees or work groups.

Hillsides practices Trauma Informed Care (TIC) principles which recognizes the signs, symptoms, and widespread impact of trauma; Employees are asked to comprehensively integrate knowledge of Trauma Informed Care into policies, procedures, and practices with the goal to prevent re-traumatization which promotes healing of families, youth, individuals, and communities.
