ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The essential functions include:

  • Oversee clinical and therapeutic operations at Hillsides Education Center, including HEC's GROWTH program implementation
  • Develop, maintain, and oversee school district mental health contracting, including Education Support Services (ESS, school based WRAP), and contracted school based therapists.
  • Responsible for collaborating with Division Director of Education Services, parents, families, students, school districts and SELPAs to provide Educational Support Services (ESS)
  • Develop, communicate, and implement ESS standards and goals in partnership with the Division Director of Education Services
  • Supervise clinical personnel that may include licensed and unlicensed therapists, counselors, rehabs, and interns.  This includes HEC therapist, ESS team members, and any therapist contracted to public schools, including hiring, training,  performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, etc.
  • Provide direct services to clients when appropriate
  • Maintain consistent and on-going collaboration and communication with school districts, in partnership with other Hillsides Education administrators
  • Work with districts/SELPAs to ensure that ESS contract requirements are adhered to
  • Provide individual and group supervision to HEC therapists and ESS staff, including facilitations of a regular clinical team meeting
  • Monitor ESS documentation to meet legal and ethical requirements per the Board of Behavioral Sciences and the American Psychology Association
  • Attend meetings, workshops, or conferences that support program goals and/or objectives of clinically based services for schools and the ESS program
  • Participate in and assist with any education based audits under the guidance of the Director of Education Services
  • Other duties as required

Equipment and Computer Software Skills and Abilities:

  • Computer literate (basic working knowledge of Microsoft WORD, Excel, Outlook, Welligent) and data/electronic records program currently in use
  • Able to use telephone, office copier, calculator, fax machine, computer printer and scanner, or other equipment as required

ADDITIONAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Use of your personal vehicle is necessary to travel to off-site meetings.  You will be responsible for keeping a mileage record and submitting it to your supervisor for reimbursement.  Proof of insurance on your personal vehicle must be provided at time of employment and when it is renewed

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Regularly work indoors in a variety of environments
  • Potential exposure to blood borne pathogens

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATES

  • Masters Degree in Social Work, Counseling or related field
  • 2 years post licensed clinical and management supervisory experience
  • Registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences
  • Strong clinical and organization skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a range of both clients and staff from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds
  • Valid California driver's license, driving record  and personal vehicle insurance acceptable to Hillsides' insurance carrier

Hillsides practices Trauma Informed Care (TIC) principles which recognizes the signs, symptoms, and widespread impact of trauma; Employees are asked to comprehensively integrate knowledge of Trauma Informed Care into policies, procedures, and practices with the goal to prevent re-traumatization which promotes healing of families, youth, individuals, and communities.
